Three of our non-emergency transport vans

What sets Cumberland Goodwill apart from some other area medical transportation services is a unique provider-supervisor-dispatcher interaction. Other services have a dedicated call center detached from where any transport crews sit. At Cumberland Goodwill, we’re different. Our providers complete their charts in the same workroom area where our transports are scheduled. Providers have access to a live-view touchscreen transport scheduler that enables them to see new transports when they arrive, print off a copy of the dispatch sheet, and promptly respond to any calls for service. We’re focused on making sure our providers, supervisors, and dispatchers all are on the same page so that we can better serve our community. Continue reading »

Our providers training on our new phones

Cumberland Goodwill EMS always strives to outfit our crews with the latest technology. Recently, we upgraded our crew’s phones to give them more tools and resources to use in the field. All crews are now equipped with Blackberry Bold 9650’s with an unlimited data and phone-as-modem plan through Sprint. These Blackberries enable us to do our regular calls and 12-lead transmissions through Bluetooth DUN on our Philips MRx Heart Monitors as we always have, but now we can also track our vehicles, communicate more effectively through the use of our Google Apps suite, create a common list of contacts shared between all phones, and give our providers the power of the entire internet to help them with whatever situation they may encounter.
