An example of an Automatic External Defibrillator

Chances are you’ve heard about an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED). These little devices deliver a precise amount of electricity to a patient in cardiac arrest suffering from ventricular fibrillation (also know as V-Fib). We’re proud to be able to provide AEDs to many community organizations, and even more proud when those AEDs are used to save a life.

You can view a recent article in The Sentinel about how AEDs were used by first responders to save a life in North Middleton Township here. The shock from this portable device in the hands of trained rescuers from North Middleton Township, Carlisle Fire and Rescue Services, and our own ambulance company is credited with saving a woman’s life. A recent awards ceremony honored this achievement. We’re proud of the work these responders did and are proud to have been a part of a successful rescue effort

But the AED’s job didn’t stop there. AEDs can record a patient’s heart rhythm and store it to be accessed later on. When downloaded by our department, the AED used to save this woman’s life revealed an underlying heart condition that needed to be corrected immediately. AEDs are easy to use, portable, and come from a variety of different manufacturers. No matter who makes the AED though, the AED can make a difference.

We’re proud to supply our community with Automatic External Defibrillators. AEDs from our agency can be found in nursing homes, municipal buildings, hotels, fire departments, and more throughout the area. We offer a service contract and great rates to any organization seeking one of these lifesaving tools. We’ll even train you and your organization to the latest American Heart Association standards. Some of the Philip’s AEDs we sell integrate with our own MRx heart monitors to provide seemless transition during cardiac arrest from the AED to the monitor. We simply unplug the pads from one unit and plug the same pads into our own device.

Some models of Philips AEDs can plug right into our own heart monitors
